Naomi Butler

Naomi Butler is the Coordinator of Educators Literacy Corps. She is retired from the Maryland State Department of Education and has expertise in education and library science. She now works part-time with Western Maryland Public Libraries and part-time with Antietam Travel Service, Inc. She has been coordinating this travel experience since 1994.

She works with the Junior Class Learning Group (JCL) and the Taranaki Ecological Experience Group in New Zealand. The JCL group will place teachers/educators in classrooms and homestays. The Taranaki group will arrange nature experiences, school, and homestays. Contact Naomi for each group.

The people placed in classrooms will see firsthand the processes of New Zealand literacy programs. They may be given opportunities to visit Teacher Education Centers and publishers.
